Downtown South Bend to Benefit From Block by Block Ambassador Program

Downtown South Bend, Inc. has selected Block by Block to provide management, staffing and creativity to it's newly formed Safety and Cleaning Ambassador program.

Beginning in late February a seven person Ambassador Team will be on the streets in downtown South Bend performing a wide variety of safety, cleaning and hospitality related tasks. In addition to the common safety and cleaning related functions the team will be involved in a wide variety of project based initiatives that Downtown South Bend, Inc. has become known for. From providing on-site maintenance of the beautiful flower planters to assisting with the many events produced by Downtown South Bend, Inc.

Members of the clean team will provide a wide variety of services to the downtown core. Basic day to day cleanliness issues, such as litter, will be addressed. At the same time a wide variety of special projects will be undertaken to improve long neglected aspects such as graffiti, tree grates, district wide power washing and good deal of landscape maintenance. Clean Team members will also be trained to deliver hospitality and have an understanding of which should be addressed by Safety Team Members or the police.

When you are in South Bend look for the staff dressed in bright red jackets and shirts on the street accomplishing a multitude of various tasks to improve the overall environment of downtown.
