Block by Block Operations Managers Wrap Up Another Informative Gathering

In an effort to ensure operational consistency and deliver the sharing of best practices Block by Block gathers its Operations Managers twice annually for management in-service training. The Spring 2005 Operations Manager's meeting was held at the corporate offices of Block by Block in Louisville , KY on March 21 – March 25.

 

“Extreme Makeover – Block by Block Edition”, was set used as the theme for the series of training meetings, workshops and roundtable discussions, which focused on the necessary ‘foundations' for developing a quality Block by Block program. Much of the focus of the meeting focused on recruitment and training of ambassadors, disciplinary procedures, operational procedures and equipment maintenance.

 

The semi-annual Operations Manager's meeting is designed to foster team work and communication and developing camaraderie among key leaders of Block by Block. ‘Block by Block began these meetings in 2002, as a way to instill consistent philosophies, values and a sense of quality among the individuals that operate our programs on a daily basis', stated Steve Hillard , Vice President.

 

This year's Spring meeting brought the Operations Managers a unique opportunity for social activity, as the meetings ended with the 75 th Anniversary celebration of Block by Block's parent company, Brantley Services. A great evening of food, drink, music and relaxation was had by all Operations Managers at the Jockey Club Suites at Churchill Downs, which is home of the Kentucky Derby and remains one of Brantley Services tenured clients.

 

The next Block by Block Operation's Manager's meeting will be held in conjunction with the International Downtown Association's annual conference and exhibits in Denver Colorado September 8 th – 15 th .
