Block by Block Awarded Findlay Market Contract

The City of Cincinnati (Department of Public Services) selected Block by Block to provide Environmental Maintenance, Supplemental Safety, and Hospitality services for Findlay Market. Block by Block began providing services on September 10, 2003. Block by Block will provide four safety ambassadors, three cleaning ambassadors, and two special projects ambassadors. The contract is for 352 hours of ambassadorial services each week.

The Clean Team will be responsible for improving the outward appearance of sidewalks and public right of ways by conducting manual litter patrols, weed control and removal, graffiti and handbill removal, and pressure washing sidewalks, alleys, and other public right of ways. The Clean Team will utilize manual cleaning methods as well as equipment designed for urban cleaning. The Safety Team will be responsible for conducting visibility patrols in and around all parking lots and the exterior of Findlay Market. Both teams will provide hospitality services by providing assistance to visitors, workers, and residents in the area of Findlay Market. Both teams will be equipped with two-way radios for communication to provide rapid deployment and responsiveness to cleaning and safety issues.
