Bats Incredible!

Brantley Services and Block by Block are supporting the
newest public art project fundraiser in Cincinnati by co-sponsoring
a Bats Incredible! sculpture with The Greater Cincinnati
Foundation and Downtown Cincinnati Inc. Artist Cooki Thier
was commissioned to create a sculpture depicting the downtown
ambassador program. Downtown Cincinnati Inc and Block by
block choose to call the sculpture "Downtown AmBATSador."
The sculpture is on display at the corner of 4th and Broadway
in downtown Cincinnati (outside the Queen City Club).
About Bats Incredible
Stand up and start the wave, Cincinnati has drafted its
next grand slam public art project to hit the streets.
Bats Incredible! Is an 8 month long celebration of art,
community, Cincinnati baseball and fun that will put
hundreds of giant Slugger Sculptures on the streets of
Downtown Cincinnati, Covington and Newport. This public
art project will use 11,000 major league, regulation
sized baseball bats to construct over 250 Slugger Sculptures.
Bats Incredible! Spring Training began March 31, 2003
when the first Slugger Sculptures were previewed on loation.
The regular season began June 14, 2003 with the Bats Incredible!
Kick-off celebration "Welcome Bat!" and runs through the
end of October 2003. On November 1, 2003, Bats Incredible!
Will host a public auction of the Slugger Sculptures to
benefit local non-profit organizations.
