BID Contract Awarded to Brantley (Block by Block)

After an extensive search and selection process, Brantley
Services has been awarded the contract for the Business Improvement
District (BID) in dowtown Columbia, South Carolina. City Center
Partnership, a thirty-six square block BID, is scheduled to
receive services on June 1, 2002. This contract will include
both a Safety Guide Program as well as a Clean Team. It will
employ 13 full-time employees, with salary and benefits unmatched
in the industry.
Safety Guides will patrol downtown on foot and on bicycle
serving as good-will ambassadors by providing pedestrian assistance
in the form of information regarding downtown Columbia and
directions. Additionally the Safety Guides will also serve
as an additional security presence througout the downtown
area and work closely with the Columbia Police Department.
 Clean
Team ambassadors will be responsible for improving the outward
apperance of downtown sidewalks, alleys and public right of
ways as they focus on eradicating litter, weeds and graffitti.
Clean Team Ambassadors will utilize manual cleaning methods
as well as equipment designed for urban cleaning.
Both teams will be linked via two-way radios to provide rapid
deployment and response to both Safety and Cleaning issues.
Also, both teams will be uniformed in vibrant yellow and blue,
which reflect the colors of the CCP, to make them highly visible
and well recognized.
The addion of Downtown Columbia's Business Improvement District
(BID) makes this the fifth BID in which Brantley Services
provides management and staffing services. The other business
improvement districts that are served by Brantley Services
are located in Louisville, KY, Nashville, TN, Cincinnati,
OH and Columbus, OH.
