Cattani Promoted – Selected to Oversee Downtown Dayton Ambassador Program

Block by Block has promoted Merle Cattani to the position of Operations Manager for the Dayton Downtown Partnership account. Previously Mr. Cattani had served as the Operations Supervisor for the Over the Rhine and Findlay Market Accounts in Cincinnati . In his previous position Mr. Cattani displayed a great sense of ownership and attention to detail in all matters related to day to day field operations of the two accounts he was previously assigned to. These traits combined with his proven ability to lead employees and interact with clients led were greatly attributed to his selection as the Operations Manager in Dayton .

Prior to joining Block by Block in May of 2004, Cattani had been managing partner in his family's convenience store and truck stop chain. His role in overseeing day to day operations of this business as well as his oversight of long term projects made him a great fit for the challenges posed as an Operations Manager within the Block by
Block organization.

In his new position Mr. Cattani will be responsible for client and employee relations of the Downtown Dayton Partnership Ambassador Program. Specific duties will include setting the work plan for daily operations, recruitment, selection and training of ambassadors, and back office functions to include payroll, background screening and reporting. The knowledge that Mr. Cattani brings from his experience in the Over the Rhine and Findlay Market account will surely be applied to developing a sound program to exceed the expectations of the Downtown Dayton Partnership and its constituents.

The Ambassadors of the Downtown Dayton Partnership will be responsible for delivering safety, cleaning and hospitality services initially to the Third and Main Corridor of Downtown Dayton, which serves as the transit hub of the city. Safety Ambassadors will be responsible for creating a visible deterrent, while on foot or bicycle. Cleaning Ambassadors will provide services in the form of litter removal, graffiti removal, weed eradication, power washing or other special projects that augment city services and improve the overall perception of Downtown Dayton.
