BID Selects Block by Block as its Service Provider
January 4, 2008
The
Rosslyn BID, located in Arlington, VA, has selected Block
by Block to provide cleaning and safety services for its Clean
and Safe Program. After careful consideration of many potential
vendors, both national and local, the Rosslyn BID selected
Block by Block based on qualifications, abilities and proven
experience in managing Ambassador Programs for nearly thirty
different districts throughout the United States.
On
January 1, 2008 the revamped Ambassador
Team provided by Block by Block seamlessly took to the streets
focused on keeping Rosslyn streets clean and safe, while serving
as goodwill ambassadors for the community. Each Ambassador
is trained in all aspects of serving an urban environment
and will carry out a wide variety of cleaning, safety and
special event related responsibilities in order to enhance
the overall perceptions of Rosslyn. The Ambassadors are able
to provide a wide range of services such as engaging and deterring
panhandlers, offering outreach assistance to the homeless,
making a wide range of recommendations to visitors and building
awareness of the organization among district workers. This
training will prove to be invaluable as the team works to
create and enhance a positive experience for those who live,
work or play in Rosslyn's city center.
Part
of the reorganization of the Rosslyn BID's services under
the direction and leadership of Block by Block was to elevate
the level of on-street services. The Ambassador team will
be focused on being more responsive than ever to district
needs and strategically working to provide not just basic
cleaning services, but carrying out projects that will improve
the overall aesthetics of the district.
Members
of the Ambassador Team can be easily identified working in
the downtown area wearing the purple and khaki colors, which
have become a significant part of the recognizable brand of
the Rosslyn Business Improvement District. Ambassadors are
two-way radio equipped in order to easily initiate the assistance
of team members, supervision or to contact emergency services.
Block
by Block is appreciative of the opportunity afforded by the
Rosslyn Business Improvement District and is looking forward
to accomplishing great things in the service district.
