Buesa Selected to Manage Sunset Strip Security Ambassador Program

In a recent selection Block by Block has hired Andy Buesa to guide and manage the Sunset Strip Security Ambassador Program. Buesa, will be responsible for overseeing the approximately fifteen person Ambassador staff who patrols the Sunset Strip Business District during late evening and early morning hours to deter unwanted activity and serve as extra eyes and ears of the West Hollywood Sheriff's Department.

In his role Andy will be responsible for providing day to day management, establishing policy, recruitment, selection and staff development, interacting with local agencies and business owners, maintaining a strong relationship with our customer and all back office support functions. One of the main priorities of Andy's role will be to organize the stakeholder contacts of Sunset Strip who deal with security related functions or issues in order to foster cooperation and build communication.

Prior to coming on board with Block by Block Andy retired from the Los Angeles Police Department where he served in numerous roles. He began his career as a patrolman in South Central L.A. , and then was transferred to the Central Division, where he worked gang details and narcotics. Prior to retiring Andy served in the Metro Division of L.A.P.D, where he was part of a city-wide task force handling high crime areas, VIP protection, high-risk search warrants.

Andy's goals with managing the Sunset Strip Business Association's Security Ambassador Program are to continue building strong relationships between the business community, the Sheriff's Department and the Ambassador Program. Andy believes being successful in this type of role there must have cooperation and good relationships with outside entities.
